Section 1
Introduction
Clipora ("we," "us," or "our") operates a video funnel platform that helps creators and businesses publish interactive video experiences, capture leads, and measure engagement. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our websites, applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
Section 2
Information We Collect
We collect information in three broad categories: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information we receive from third parties.
Personal information
When you register, subscribe, contact us, or use certain features, you may provide identifiers and contact details such as your name, email address, organization, billing information, profile details, and content you upload (including video, images, text, and funnel configuration). If you communicate with support, we keep the contents of those messages.
Automatically collected information
We automatically log technical and usage data such as IP address, device and browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, pages or screens viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, diagnostic logs, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. For video delivery and playback, our infrastructure may process bandwidth, quality, and engagement signals needed to operate streams and analytics.
Third-party sources
We receive information from service providers integrated with the Services, including:
- Clerk — authentication, session management, and account security-related data when you sign in or manage your account.
- Apple and Google — when you choose "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google," we receive profile identifiers and email (subject to your settings and their policies).
- Mux — video ingestion, transcoding, storage, streaming, and related technical metadata required to deliver and protect video content.
- Vercel — hosting, deployment, edge routing, and operational telemetry for our web application and APIs.
Section 3
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service provision — to create and maintain your account, host and deliver funnels and media, process payments, provide clipora.bio and embed experiences, enable editor and dashboard features, and fulfill our contract with you.
- Analytics — to understand how the Services are used, improve performance and reliability, measure funnel effectiveness for account holders, develop features, and conduct product research in aggregated or de-identified form where appropriate.
- Communication — to send transactional messages (security alerts, billing, legal notices), respond to inquiries, and, where permitted, share product updates or marketing (you may opt out of marketing as described in your account or message settings).
- Legal — to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, detect fraud or abuse, and establish or defend legal claims.
Section 4
Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the Services you requested and perform our agreement with you.
- Legitimate interests — processing necessary for securing the platform, improving the product, analytics that do not override your rights, and business operations, balanced against your interests and rights.
- Consent — where we ask for your consent (for example, certain cookies or marketing), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Legal obligation — processing required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process.
Section 5
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these situations:
- Service providers — with vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards, including Clerk (authentication), Mux (video infrastructure), Vercel (hosting and edge), payment processors, email delivery, analytics, and customer support tools. They may access data only as needed to perform services for us.
- Public profile and funnels — content you publish to clipora.bio or embeds may be visible to anyone with the link or who visits your public page, consistent with your settings.
- Legal requirements — when we believe disclosure is required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clipora, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
Section 6
Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, secure development practices, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords, enable available security features, and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
Section 7
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account and billing records may be kept longer where required for tax, accounting, or legal holds. When retention is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize data in accordance with our internal schedules, subject to backup and archival systems that may retain copies for a limited period before automatic overwrite.
Section 8
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by law. These may include:
- Access — request a copy of or confirmation of processing of your personal information.
- Correction — request updates to inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal information, subject to exceptions (for example, legal retention).
- Portability — receive certain data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where technically feasible.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing in specific circumstances.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
Section 9
Cookies and Tracking
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, authenticate sessions, measure performance, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may limit functionality. For more detail on categories of cookies and your choices, see our Cookie Policy.
Section 10
International Data Transfers
Clipora may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms approved under applicable law to govern transfers of personal information.
Section 11
Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
Section 12
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, may grant you rights to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell personal information in the conventional sense; see Section 5); and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf with proper verification. To submit a request, contact us as described in Section 15.
Section 13
European Data Protection (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and local implementing laws may apply. You have rights described in Section 8, including the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. For more information about our processing of personal data in Europe, including legal bases and transfer mechanisms, see our dedicated page: GDPR information.
Section 14
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the Services. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example, by email or in-product notice). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
Section 15
